Sweater or Sweatshirt?

I have been loving the past few weeks of real Fall weather.  The chill in the air brings so much excitement and anticipation for the start of the Holiday season.  I adore the colors of Autumn and the beautiful contrasting trees that line the streets.  The crisp air automatically lifts my spirits.  Can you tell this is my favorite time of year! AND of course with cool weather brings the opportunity to layer up! A layered look is by far one of my favorites.  Under each layer can offer an element of surprise and a mix of different textures. This day was simply a lazy Sunday.  Rupal and I took a short stroll around Tudor City before grabbing some lunch.  This casual look is super cute and fun for any day.
This outfit's navy and tan color theme is simple and classic while showing color pops from Rupal's Capwell + Co statement necklace and her bright lip color.  This beautiful necklace was a gift from Capwell + Co from Lucky Fabb and I couldn't resist passing it off to Rupal to wear over her cream sweater.  I should also mention that this sweater/sweatshirt from Anthropologie is amazing!    It appears to be a sweater when layered under a jacket. When worn by itself you can see that it is a sweater on the front and a sweatshirt on the back and arms. The material is super soft.  I am pretty sure I will have to buy this top for myself. Sorry for being a copy - cat Rup :)

Rupal says " One thing comes to mind when wearing this outfit, its comfortable!  The sweater and hat were so warm and cozy, the jeans are stretchy so they always fit just right, and the shoes are so light that I could wear them all day.  I'm also in love with my new jacket.  I can pretty much wear it with any casual outfit because it is so basic, but the gold and leather details really make it unique".

Stella & Dot Giveaway!

Mae Necklace

Happy Weekend Everyone!  Hope you all had a Happy Halloween.  We thought we would jump start the weekend with a fun Giveaway from Stella & Dot.  A few weeks ago Kelly and I hosted an S&D trunk show.  It was a great excuse to get old and new friends together while sipping on cocktails and trying on the baubles of our choice.  An old friend from high school, Shannon Burgwald was our S&D stylist, which made things even more fun since we rarely get to see her.  She was so knowledgable and helpful to everyone exploring all of the jewelry options.  She is definitely our favorite stylist :) After our two hour jewelry party turned into 4 hours of non-stop fun, Kelly and I picked out 2 great pieces that we thought our readers would really enjoy, the Mae necklace and the Tia cross-body bagShannon was awesome enough to sponsor yet another amazing giveaway!   The Mae is super pretty and versatile and can also be the perfect piece to add to any holiday or party outfit. This beauty looks perfect when paired with the Somervell or Christina link necklace, also available at  S&D.  The Tia bag is a simple and chic design that can be taken anywhere.  Use it as an easy cross-body or remove the strap to sport a clutch.
We'd like to give a BIG "Thanks" to Shannon for being such a wonderful stylist and our great friend Jenn for surrendering her house for our festivities.

Enter to win through the Raffelcopter at the end of this post.  Two winners will be drawn.  Good Luck!

Belted Flannel

I am such a huge fan of this look and of Rupal's overall style.  Who doesn't want to slip into a heavenly soft outfit that looks chic but is cotton from head to toe, well maybe not the shoes but you know what I'm saying.  I Love the punch of red that this flannel gives while looking fab paired with mainly black accessories. I think the belt just pulls it all together making this ensemble office appropriate.  I must also mention that I LOVE that necklace!
This particular day spent with Rup in NYC wasn't too chilly so she was able to rock her skirt and open-toed booties without tights.  If you like this look you will most likely need to add the tights now that the Fall weather is here to stay with the winter chill on the horizon.

Rupal says "I love that this outfit mixes different styles yet is all cotton.  At first I never would have thought to wear a flannel shirt to the office, but once I paired it with a pencil skirt, belt and heels it looked so polished.  This shirt is so super soft and warm".

Lucky FABB Event 2013

I wanted to share my amazing experience at the Lucky FABB Event this past October 24th and 25th. This was the first FABB event I have attended.  I am sure some of you have been to one of Lucky's Fabb events in the past or perhaps you were there this year. Either way I am sure you would agree that it is definitely worth your time if you are someone who is passionate and takes blogging seriously.  If you have never been to this event I would highly recommend you apply for a ticket for next year.  First you must become a member of the Lucky Community.  Once you are an active member and participant in the community you will be given the opportunity to apply for an invite to Lucky FABB.

What is Lucky FABB all about?  First, I would say that it is the most fabulous opportunity to meet, mingle and network with several other bloggers and brand reps in the fashion and beauty industry.  I am so thankful for being able to meet so many amazing women who are also fellow bloggers.  DON'T forget those business cards!  Most excitingly, there is an unbelievable amount of helpful information given and personal stories shared by many recognizable names in the fashion, beauty and blogging world.  Find out how they became successful.  Just to name a few speakers from this year, Katia Beauchamp founder of  Birchbox,  Jess Lee, founder of Polyvore, Emily Weiss from Into the Gloss and Leandra Medine from ManRepeller.  There were also photography info sessions with Adam Katz Sindig, founder and photographer of Le 21ème.  Below I am sharing with you just some of my photos from the 2 days of FABB.  You will see many more familiar faces I'm sure.  I used my phone for most pictures, hence the lack of clarity in most of them.  I soon learned after day 1 that I was indeed allowed to bring my actual camera into all sessions and interviews.  If you scroll through these photos you will see captions with the names of each speaker/special guest.  You will recognize many of these people and if not their face, then definitely their very successful blogs or businesses.  Hope you Enjoy :)

Budget, Bold and Ballin Buys

Bold - Zara
Ballin - Phillip Lim

Happy Friday Everyone! For a few weeks now I have been trying to scout out the perfect black satchel for my my Fall wardrobe.  I have been quite indecisive about the whole ordeal but the one thing I know is that I really like the styles shown above.  They are all very similar in shape.  I love how spacious each bag is while still remaining very structured and chic. The zipper details are what really caught my eye on all of these bags.  I prefer subtle amounts of hardware and that's exactly what these satchels serve up.  I have been seeing this Phillip Lim by Target bag all over the place, including the arms of many New Yorkers, fellow bloggers and several online shopping sites.  Which one do you like best?
Budget - Madewell
Bold - Marc by Marc Jacobs
Ballin - Rag & Bone

Tis the season to cozy up in a warm chunky oversized sweater. Well, maybe not just yet with this current heatwave we are experiencing here in the NorthEast, but soon enough.  Kelly and I have been drooling over countless boyfriend sweaters in every color imaginable. My biggest love affair is with mustard yellow sweaters but I will save that for another day.  I love the grey color because it can be paired with just about anything.  Although the budget priced sweater shown here is not super wallet friendly, I always say that spending a little more cash on a great sweater is worth it.  The material will be of higher quality that will give you many more years of wear. I think I'm stuck right in the middle with my fave sweater. This luxurious Marc Jacobs cable knit even comes with a warm and fuzzy scarf. Can't beat that!  MJ may have won me over with this sweater :)
Have a lovely and safe weekend!

Monday Mani: Army Green and Tweed

I love experimenting with different colors of nail polish but even more exciting is experimenting with different textures!  I thought I would give this Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat polish a try when I saw it at the drugstore.  It instantly reminded me of tweed fabric and which seemed absolutely perfect for the start of Autumn.  I then realized it was the color name that gave it away "Tweedy"  I knew this look would be either totally fab or totally drab but I decided to pick it up and take the chance.  I first tried it with a white color as the base and I thought it looked too Halloween -like, so there you go, BAM,  I just gave you a festive holiday idea.  After having the Fuzzy polish for a few weeks I forgot about it and got a regular manicure at the salon. I chose this new fave color of mine by Essie called, Sew Psyched.  Once I had it on for a few days I remembered the forgotten  fuzzy, tweedy, fabric like polish.  I applied about 2 coats to each nail. You have to play around with it a bit to get the fabric pieces to spread around evenly.  Overall I think it's a pretty cool look so Fab not Drab!  Would I do it again?  I probably would with some other base colors or maybe try one of the many other fuzzy coat color options.  Would you give this a try?

Game Day Ready!

Are you a football fan?  Do you like to get together at friend's houses to watch the game, go to a local bar, or just hang out at home for Sunday Football?  No matter the situation it's always nice to sport your team colors, mascot or logo.  Unless you are a die hard fan you may feel that dressing the part can sacrifice your usual fashion sense.  Or maybe you look forward to a  dress down day full of cotton and comfort.  Here are a few examples of how to dress yourself up for game day no matter your personality or mood come Sunday.  There is something for everyone here.  Now obviously Kelly and I are very biased with our Eagles gear and the primary colors of green and white but I am sure you can gather some inspiration from our 3 outfits.  Keep in mind that you don't have to wear your team colors to make a statement (Tan Eagle sweater) and if you wear the colors you don't have to sport your mascot and/or logo (plaid hoodie.)  Some of our favorite shops to find lots of creative gear include, Forever 21, Old Navy and Urban Outfitters.  Hope you have a Sunday Funday!

Flowy Fall

There is nothing quite like the first few days of Fall when the air is just slightly crisp and the heat of the sun still warm and fuzzy.  The start of the Fall season has been nothing but pleasant skies so far (knock on wood.) It is the kind of weather that makes getting dressed fun, usually requiring some layering techniques.  I love that you can layer yourself on top for a warm cozy feeling but still get away with open-toe sandals.  Also mixing darker bold colors together is easy.  Thats why Fall is awesome! These snaps are of my sister Jacque. She wanted to stay comfy but still wear something fun and cute for a Sunday Funday of shopping and lunching with her sisters (me included of course:) My favorite element of this outfit is the skirt.  The vibrant blue color and the flowiness of the skirt just make it so pretty and femme.  Her hair looks perfectly easy and polished, casually thrown into a loose bun.  Jacque you better watch out because I may just steal that skirt.
